I just got my transfer orders, we are moving to Bayonne NJ in the summer. I am getting stationed on a 140 Harbor tug / Ice breaker. I am dreading this move for several reasons. We have to break the news to Grandma and let her spoil the kids rotten until we leave. And I have to figure out how to move 2 chevelles, a Harley, my dually and our 2 daily drivers out there and not to mention find a place to put them.

Any NJ members?

Ed I lived there from birth until I graduated high school 1967. Taxes are HIGH, no self serve gas, so you got some moron spilling it all over your classic car, you have to pay to drive on the good roads, rumored to have bodies buried everywhere ( I would ask uncle Dominic where they are but he passed away :) ) and the smell.... but millions of people live there so maybe it has gotten better since (or because) I left :D

I live in ocean county NJ Sorry to hear you have to move here to high Taxs and highset auto ins in the country. If you are from the south it will be cold here and yes you CAN NOT pump your own gas most of the kids pumping gas don't care if they spill it on your car or not. I'm from Texas and man is there a differance in people here everything has to be done now they are in a hurry for everything they dont take time to slow down and enjoy life and the traffic is bad unless you like to set in traffic then its great. You have to pay tolls to drive on bad roads they are not good anymore but you still pay tolls. and they collect without a smile on there face. Welcome to NJ. I myself is just waiting for the wife to retire then we are out of here. If you need any help I will more then happy to help anyway I can.

We are looking to live outside of the city limits towards the PA border. My car insurance doubled when I moved here from VT I am going to call usaa and check on the rates for NJ today. I hope they dont go up again. With 5 insured vehicles it gets alittle expensive

I was going to let you know it would go up, but didn't have the heart to ruin your day.
