I have never seen a vehicle (that i can remember) with nitrous and a supercharger. I was wondering if anyone can inform me if this can be done or not. just thought i would ask

Sure it can be done, but what would be the point? both items do the same job,but arrive at it through different means, blower compresses the air/fuel and nitrus freezes it, thus making it much more dense, add the two together and I doubt your engine can handle it, no matter how much money you have in it. unless blower was underdriven to say,5 lbs and nitrus was only 50 or 75 hp shot, then would still be dangerous,so like I said, what would be the point? Either one by itself can be pumped up enough to overload an engine. Thats my .02.

yeah thats what i was thinking, thats probably why i havent heard much about it, but i looked in an old hot rod mag and saw a combo nitrous and blower and i wasnt really impressed, i had a friend of mine saying it couldnt be done and i was thinking well why wouldnt it be able to be done, anyway thanks for the reply i apperciate it!!

Yeah, I've seem them too, but so far, only on trailer queens strictly for show.

A couple years ago hot rod ran an article on building and tuning an engine to survive this combo. A lot of it had to do with staging and an adjustable timing module that will automatically adjust timing as you work through the nitrous staging if my memory serves me right.

I seen on a couple of drag cars.
but motor gotta be bullet proof

Yes, it can and is done more than you think. Actually nitrous serves a little different purpose on a blown engine. Blowers by nature heat up the intake charge and of course nitrous is very cold as it is applied. You can actually see higher gains on a blown engine from nitrous use than on a N/A engine. What I mean is if you have a blown engine and add a 100HP shot of nitrous you could actually see 125HP or something similar. The nitrous actually makes the blower more efficient. Using alcohol/water injection is a cheaper way to cool down the charge on a blown engine but, you will not see as much of a power increase. What it will do is allow you to run more boost to make more power. Does the job of an intercooler.

As far as the engine being bullet proof, blowers are not hard on parts and it would depend on how big of a nitrous shot you are dealing with. In either case you need good forged parts (nitrous, blower, or both).

I agree with you camaro, nitrus in a small amount does exactly what you said, but it is only feasible if your running over say, 10 lbs of boost, and have a detonation problem.
For a street driven engine, I dont think I'd want to use it due to cost= effectiveness, and the temptation to install a bigger nozzle until you only have pieces of an engine.

Run a procharger instead!! Does it both!!

Sure it can be done and survive, its all about automated timing retard and moderate cylinder pressures.. not to mention reliable engine safeguards like burst panels/blow off valves, progressive nitrous controller, meth injection.. I'm assuming your gonna bolt this on an absolutely bullet-proof foundationas well.
Piston selection becomes very important with that combo, expansion rates and piston/bore clearance mainly
I'm not too hip on building a combo like that, i would build a blower motor or a nitrous motor, one or the other would be tons more reliable..

Think f1 or f2!!
