Hi,I am a new member.I have a 1966 chevelle ss 427 convertible.I am in the process of changing fron an automatic to a four speed.I was wondering about the pedal installation.Do the pedals bolt right in to where the old brake pedal mount is or do I have to do some mods. Thanks

Not sure on Chevelles but Camaros were a direct swap.

Yes the pedals will install onto the existing bracket.

Try to find GM stuff, it's a much better fit than the knock off crap. You will need to weld the Z-bar braket to the frams on a 66, like a 67. That you will need to get from one of the knock off guys, I bought three and they were all crap.

Don't know about the Chevelle, but if you are looking for a complete kit that includes everything you might want to look at a classicchevy5speed.com at their complete conversion kits. Give them a call and they will tell you everything you need and probably be able to supply it. If you don't already have the 4 speed this may also be an alternative tranny to use so you can get an overdrive with it. If you already have a deep rear it will help you on the highways. If you don't have a deep geared rear it will allow you to upgrade to a deeper rear to get some additional power off the line. (but lets face it a 427 doesn't need a lot of help off the line for general street driving perposes.)

Dan these are pictures of the 64 I had and yours is probably the same. The clutch linkage exits thru the floor plate of the steering column as shown in the first two photos. The frame bracket was changed in 66 or 67 the one in the last photo is correct for 64 and 65. 64 - 67 were welded on the frame, 68 - 72 were bolted on.
