hey all,
i'm picking up on a project i started over 20 years ago when i was a kid. :)

i have a '66 chevelle with a balanced and blue-printed 327, and am just now getting back to the project after all these years!

i have lots of questions to ask and am willing to pay for info with beers! ;)
thanks a ton! and cheers to all the chevelle owners out there!

Welcome to the site. Info is free and beers are for after the work is done. I assume you have already been over to Team Chevelle.

Getting back to a project after 20 years is awesome. Post some photos if you can, we would love to see your 66.

During the time of raising the 3 kids most of my projects and parts were sold. Now that they are all grown and gone I can waste my retirement funds on the El Camino and Nova :D

thanks philip!

yes waking up a 20 year old project is just that. it has been started intermittently (to keep things "semi-alive") but as you know, sitting is never a good thing for a car. we are head-down in replacing all the obvious things that happened after sitting for a while. (dry brakes, hand brake, power steering, etc.)

i'll def' post photos as it goes. it'll be a long process from now till end of summer next year. (gotta budget ya know)

mixed impression on that "other" web site. not like the friendly and smart/helpful crowd that hangs out at my friend's camaro site. super cool and helpful gents there.

anyway, i'm 42 and this is really my "kid-dream" starting to happen. since i don't have kids, this is my new "working for" inspiration. ;)

I am almost 60 and have been messing with Chevy's all my life. The Nova will be my last project. Once it is on the road it will be time to just enjoy our hobby by cruising and the occasional trip to the drag strip. I will still have to help build my son's car, but it will be a lot less work for me, more of guiding him along until it is done. It is a 79 Turbo Regal and will be getting a 455 Olds under the hood.
