I have just aquired an '89 Camaro front clip for the '58 Apache. I have a pretty good idea of how to attach the front clip. I would like to get some more input before i start cutting. Does anyone have some good tips for the conversion? pictures maybe? I'm particularly interesed in the point where the two frames are welded together. Any tips, advice, or pictures on the process would be greatly appreciated. This is my first shot at this type of conversion. Thanks, Nik

It's been a while so I hope you still need the info.
Build a jig to bolt / weld the stock frame into.
Put braces before and after where you plan to cut the frame.
Measure height to the center of the spindle to the ground.
Measure spindle distance center of front axle, to center of rear axle.
Cut out section of frame to be discarded.
Measure the gap left in the frame rails. (front stub and rest frame should be held in place by jig)
Trim your sub-frame down to fit in the gap.
Adjust with clamps until spindle height and front-to-back center is correct.
Tack into place and measure spindle location again.
If everything looks good, weld it into place.
Brace joints with plate steel on three sides.
Done. Bolt the body back on.
