Every classic car enthusiast should have the good fortune to open an old barn door & make the find of a lifetime. Only 40 miles from my house in upstate New York sat this Autumn Gold 1970 Nova SS since 1975 & showing 42,000 original miles.
After a very close inspection it was determined that 100% of the paint was original, floors & trunk.
The complete driveline was original & number correct.
A very painstakenly "comprehensive" restoration was performed as not to hurt any of the body's original patina. 75% of the car was disassembled & re-assembled with all new parts. That included removing the front end & sub-frame - media blasting, painting & re-installed with new mounts. The inner fender wells & raiator support was also media blasted, painted along with the firewall & re-installed. All new Moog steering & suspension parts throughout. All new brake system include the correct Delco booster / master cylinder & lines. All new fuel system including lines & tank. Undercarriaged was detailed to the tens.
The original 350/300hp engine was professionally rebuilt & up-graded to 350hp specs by one of the foremost engine builders in the Northeast. The Munice 4-speed was freshen up, new clutch set-up & flywheel. New ceramic coated headers & a new complete Pipes Performance exhaust system installed. The original 12 bolt posi was also freshen up & a more user friendly 3.42 gears installed.
90% of the interior is original & in excellent overall condition. Only the front seat cover was replaced & a new carpet. New reproduction Am/Fm radio installed.
New B.F.Goodrich radial T/A tires, alignment & new GM rally rims, caps & centers. Plus there's even more, too much to list.
