Default Alarm problems

Is it possible to have intermittant alarm problems due to battery voltage? My El Camino has a Bulldog system, nothing fancy just lock/unlock and a bump sensor. A few weeks ago it started doing some crazy things. I would lock the doors and then they would unlock and sometimes lock again. The alarm would also arm itself even when driving the car. Last weekend the battery died and since I installed the new battery yesterday everything is fine. Was it low voltage or did the system just reset from being unpowered for a week?

Thanks for the info. It came with the vehicle and the battery change seems to have resolved the problem. I will check into the Hornet systems.
